Adventure Awaits Under the Lake
Dosthill Quarry is the UK’s oldest National Dive Site. Divers have been diving in the lake since 1958, and we have been training divers at Dosthill Quarry since the owner, Ian Forster, bought the lake, and land around it, from the British Sub Aqua Club in 1988.
It is part of the Dive In Group of companies which also includes the second oldest National Dive Site at Gildenburgh Water, Whittlesey, near Peterborough, in Northern Cambridgeshire, which has been a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre since 1997, when this highest dive centre award was created by PADI.
For our outdoor swimmers, non-divers, and perhaps even some divers, PADI is the world’s leading diver training agency, which has a massive base in the UK at their Bristol Offices.
We are proud to announce that PADI have awarded Dosthill Quarry’s Dive Centre 5 Star IDC status, and to recognise this we have renamed the dive centre Dive In Dosthill.
This new page on the dosthillquarry.com website is under development, and you will see lots of new information and posts in the coming weeks – particularly very competitively-priced try dive and learn to dive packages for our swimmers and non-diver supporters.
SO IF YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY DIVING
and copy in email@example.com,
and they’ll email you details
of the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience
that we will be arranging in local pools, as well as the lake.
To whet your appetite for diving here are some underwater photos in our lake.
Don’t worry about the fish or their size – they don’t bite.
You look a lot bigger to them underwater, so they don’t come too close.
But getting close to them, like the photographer Vyv Wilkins did here, is an exciting privilege!!
